Everyone has their own way of making this list. That’s what makes it beautiful. I for one stand that gossip blogs, though influential in nature, should not be considered influential. Capitalizing on the private lives of others is something I don’t want to endorse.
In terms of emerging, the trend I’ve seen lately are collaborative blogs. Half my list is composed of collaborative efforts. When bloggers compare views it makes it more fun to read.
(NEW!) Vlog 1×20 – Emerging Influential Blogs 2008
My selections for the Top 10 emerging influential blogs of 2008 are…

Filipino Voices – a powerful collaborative effort where bloggers share political views and opinions on national events

Manila Foodistas – people with different tastes under one umbrella

You Got Tech – a collaborative effort that utilizes video blogging in promoting technology in the Philippines

So Sick of Taxi – wildcard collaborative selection; everyone has a “horror story” with taxi’s and this blog showcases how the online community can share how to handle the most common ordeals

Visit Sagada – a team of adventure bloggers that show what the blogging medium can do to promote a local travel destination

Mindanao Bloggers – a high-powered group that enthusiastically promotes the south and empowers bloggers outside Metro Manila (a wonderful blog, but I just found out it isn’t qualified)

(NEW SELECTION) Comicology – for the kid in all of us!

Mar Roxas for President in 2010 – setting aside its cluttered layout, this is a landmark blog that has a dual purpose: to promote Mar Roxas (which I do not particularly endorse) and to test the waters of how the internet can affect a local politician’s campaign

Missing Carlo – a simple personal blog which relates to the blogosphere the realities of Autism

Pass The Sauce – choice food blog by an independent blogger; part of the food blog revolution

Fritzified - he is a personality that sells, people listen to Fritz and his interesting views
Thanks to local blogging advocate and author of four books, Ms. Janette Toral, for this opportunity. I’m planning to attend the announcement of winners and meet-up on Monday, August 11 at The Legend Villas.
