Iloilo: Dinner at Bourbon Street
We were in the mood to try something new after two days of eating chicken inasal, la paz batchoy, and other native delicacies. Since they put me in charge of the itinerary I brought everyone to one of Iloilo City’s raved restos, Bourbon Street.
Bourbon Street is located in Smallville along the Diversion Road in Iloilo City. Smallville is the center of nightlife in the city (a mini-Eastwood) with bars, restaurants, and cafes all around.
The restaurant gets its inspiration from the famous street in New Orleans. The menu offerings include American southern cuisine like soup, salad, barbecue, pizzas, and seafood. The price for a good meal is at Php 300.00 to 500.00.
We ordered the BBQ Rib Slabs (Half order is good for two) which is Php 475.00. My photo doesn’t give it justice actually. The meaty slabs were tender but not too tender that they fall off the ribs. It comes close to becoming the Racks of Iloilo.
We also tried the Signature Square Pizzas. They were crispy (thin crust) and light filling. Perfect with a bottle of beer. The menu lists a lot of other dishes we didn’t get to try. I would recommend this place for special or casual dinners.
What’s great is that after dinner at Bourbon Street you can go out and explore the other bars and cafes of Smallville.

[...] Bourbon Street – Located somewhere in Smallville (which is like the Eastwood or High Street of Iloilo). I ordered Puttanesca (which looked like it was soaked in achuete. It was so red!) and Seafood Pizza (see pictures below). I didn’t like the food that much. It was bland for my taste and too expensive. Some of my friends loved the ribs and the chicken though. [...]
