Nothing short of humiliating

Welcoming Mrs. Arroyo to the White House only validates her troubled rule. – Editorial from The Washington Times (July 26)

On the eve of her last State of the Nation Address (SONA), the online Pinoy community converges for Blog Action Day condemning any efforts at charter change through a Constitutional Assembly (or CONASS).

I agree that the constitution needs an upgrade eventually but working to change it just months before the 2010 Presidential elections is a slap on the face.  Ang kapal ng mga mukha ng mga politiko who are prioritizing term extention over other civil needs.  Term extention is the public’s greatest fear.  For PGMA it is time she step down at the end of her term next year so we can move on.

As a supporter of Barack Obama I believe he needs to listen to true Filipino sentiment towards PGMA.  When she arrives in Washington later this week it is his responsibility to let her know that he won’t be used to forward her political agenda.

Pleasantries aside, please!

Correction: The editorial is from The Washington Times and not The Washington Post. Thank you Kuya Eric for the correction.
