O80 launches Roam’s 2nd Issue

When I was a military brat in the early 90s, the American Fourth of July meant cookouts, barbecue picnics, and fireworks.  Underneath my Asian skin was a childhood excitement born from jus soli whenever the Star Spangled Banner was played.

It’s 2009 and after spending ten Philippine Independence Days’ sans the cookouts, barbecue picnics, and fireworks- I’m reduced to little or no recent memory of literally celebrating freedom.  Both American and Pilipino.

Well, June 12 this year happens to be different.

3. O80′s Roam Magazine 2nd Issue launching at Cubao Expo

Yes, the premiere of Roam’s 2nd issue!  Finally!  I have two contributions for the issue which includes my memorable encounter with dolphins in Subic last year.

The launch was titled “Roam the X” which featured a mini-bazaar, a photo exhibit by Jake Versoza, and a film showing.

I can never get tired of watching the artsy crowd at Cubao Expo.  Charisse, Neil and I had to sit down to take it all in actually.

My classmate Sky (who is affiliated with Lomo Manila) also dropped by.  I wasted no time and getting a class picture of us with Upper.

Of course Cubao Expo’s resident photoblogger (LOL) Rick Manzano was there sporting a Turo2x apron!  I also ran into my friend Dustin who also featured this event on his blog.

Congratulations Upper and O80 for Roam’s 2nd issue!  People can grab copies of the latest issue in a few days at popular magazine and news stands.  Roam’s 2nd issue is a DEDICATION TO ROAD TRIPS.  I’m not kidding.  I’d like to highlight the feature on Everywhere We Shoot and Upper’s wild experience at Adams, Ilocos Norte! (Hala!)
